Farewell Aaron :-(

Aaron left on Saturday night.

Goodbye Mr. Witty, Mr. “where’s the gay beach” or “bar” or “restaurant”, and Mr. “I’ll supplement your meal so we can eat somewhere ‘chic’”.

Aaron was definitely on a different budget and travel schedule than us. By Indonesian standards we “splurged” at some restaurants. One of our favorite restaurants was Drops; a chic, classy, and yummy (even western food) cuisine. The presentation of the food would be that of an upper mid-range restaurant (even though they put Sambal and Ketchup on the table) with prices that you would spend at Zippy’s or Denny’s. Thank you for pushing us there 3 times, Aaron. It was a luxury that we won’t experience too often on our travels.

On the other hand….. Sorry Aaron. We spent 80% of our time lounging by the pool and playing cards. We spent about 3 hours at the beach and a day of sight-seeing. We did a half day in Denpasar; Yami went to mosque (Aaron and I went as observers), and Aaron went to the US Consulate to have pages added to our passport. All-in-all we didn’t do too much sightseeing or getting outside of the touristy areas. Yami and I are not on a tight schedule and we will definitely be seeing more (and better) beaches and sights.

It was great just hanging with Aaron. He brings humor and sarcasm (and a gay guide) with him everywhere.

He is now touring his “one man show”. He is now in Kuala Lumpur, then he’ll be in Bangkok for a day, and then to Seoul for a few days.

We miss you Aaron.
